The image is shot in Zyrardow, Poland. I'm visiting the place currently and many things changed already. Mostly they are turning those red brick built factories into lofts, shopping malls and offices. The place you see above still looks the same as a year ago.
TECH-INFO: I took multiple shots (with different exposures) but unfortunately many of the other shots were not sharp. I guess my tripod moved, perhaps because of the wind or maybe I accidentally bumped it. Anyway, the middle exposure was fine enough to use. I used perspective correction because my camera was tilted upwards. In Photoshop I used a big bunch of masked adjustment layers to play around with the colors and contrasts in all different spots. I also experimented with the liquify tool. Mainly the big white pipe got lots of bumps (in real it is still pretty OK) and some of the iron bars got a few knocks too.
