photoblog image Port Industries Barcelona

Port Industries Barcelona

While flying to the airport of Barcelona I saw this incredible view of the port. Luckily the window was not too dirty to shoot a clear image. Mostly it's impossible to shoot a few descent pictures through such plastic frame full of scratches, fingers and sticking pieces of whatever you can imaging. That day it was very cloudy hence the whole place got lit in a nice and soft way. I was glad to be able to shoot a wide angle image from the plain. Enjoy the view!

TECH-INFO: metering the light was not difficult due to the cloudy weather. Just shot RAW to get a maximum of detail. Converted in ACR and enhanced in Photoshop. I used a bunch of masked adjustment layers, mainly the curves tool.  Each part, like the wing, clouds, island and seas, is separately improved slightly. Finally some vignetting is added.

Very nice view. I am also a fan of shots from the plane. I complain also about the dirtybwindow and the wing that sometimes gets in my way.
LightningPaul: Thanks for your comment! I like the wing but without the wing and a very clear window it would be fantastic smile
nice overview
LightningPaul: Thank you Chantal.

Amazing shot through a window Paul
LightningPaul: Thanks Zed smile
Yes these types of shots are notoriously difficult to get right, but this works works very well. The clouds are great, as is the composition, especially with the wing.
LightningPaul: Thanks Mark for your comment, I appreciate it.

great! I've taken lots of photos from plane windows before but generally without much luck, this is a good example though.
LightningPaul: Thanks Rhys!
Great frame, thanks for sharing!
LightningPaul: You're welcome smile

F A B U L O U S ! Awesome job to improve awesome view. Bravo and thank to share your masterpiece. About the dirty windows, it is a necessary evil to obtain uncommon shot.
LightningPaul: T H A N K S smile
I wonder when I'll get an uncommon shot because of a dirty window.
Amazing. I like it. I have a couple of shots like this that i took on my last trip to Nigeria and might post if i could get around that smile but my major problems everytime are the scratches, the dirt, the finger prints and all sorts that blots your view through those plastic window screens.
LightningPaul: Thanks for commenting. I agree, they should maintain the windows in airplanes a bit better so that we can make more great pictures.

This is an amazing shot! I've landed many times in BCN but never had a gorgeus sight like this one.

The technique and post-processing is perfect, I like the "feeling" the image transmits.

Bravo wink
LightningPaul: Many thanks for your comment and visit. I was the first time I was flying to Barcelona. I was lucky to get this rather unusual view for place like that.

HAD NEVER SEEN BARCELONA THIS WAY§ THIS IS VERY IMPRESSIVE/§
LightningPaul: It's totally worthwhile to visit this fantastic cultural city. We stayed for four days but that is even a bit too short. I posted already a few pictures of this city during the last months. Thanks for your comment.
