Fireworks - Duinbergen - Portugal - 2011

Shooting fireworks is something I really love. In Knokke-Heist there is a big international firework festival in August. This is still one of 2011 executed by a team of Portugal. The newer ones of last year are coming too, though with some delay.

TECH-INFO: the usual stuff is needed like a tripod, remote and a wide angle lens. Second, find a good place to stand. Not easy as everybody wants to have a very good place. Coming early helps but I always arrive just in time (bad habit of me). After finding a good spot talking with people helps to prevent having them in front of your lens. Most of them are very kind. A few exceptions may become angry.

During shooting I use a wide view to be sure of capturing the fireworks. It's often hard to predict where the fireworks-bombs will explode. Including people at bottom gives the image a sense of scale. In post-processing you often need to crop.
