Yestarday we were in the Zoo of Antwerp. From time to time I took a few snapshots. It's not easy to get very good and natural looking animals pictures. In this case I had trees at the background which fitted nicely with the head of the giraffe, despites the leaves are not part of its habitat. When I took the image the animal was chewing on some leaves.
TECH-INFO: one RAW-file converted into a TIFF file. I slightly cropped it to improve composition. Using various masked adjustment layers in Photoshop I darkened the background made the eyes and certain body parts brighter, elevated the head using high pass sharpening and improved colors with the selective color tool. Also vignetting is added.
