photoblog image Chain Bridge Parts #5

Chain Bridge Parts #5

Part of the supporting construction of the Chain Bridge in Budapest. Really impressive to see.

TECH-INFO: I took 5 exposures (each a stop difference) to capture the whole dynamic range of light. Without that it would be really impossible. The darkest picture shows the details in the clouds but the bridge is completely dark, the brightest one clearly exposes the metal part but the clouds are totally blown out. Combining them into a HDR images solves this problem. Because you cannot really view a HDR image (on a conventional screen), I tone mapped it (like most people do). I went for very dramatic clouds. I hardly to this kind of exaggeration but here I feel it fits. In Photoshop I brightened and accentuated the metal parts, enhanced contrasts even more, partly converted it into B/W, toned the metal slightly red and added strong vignetting.
