Shot with the sun setting from behind, so you look into the shadow side. A month ago I posted a sunlit orchid. The beauty of such flowers is so unique. I really like them.
TECH-INFO: because of the low light (I was shooting in shadow while having sunset and I needed a large DOF) I used a tripod. Just behind the camera/tripod I held a big white reflection screen for fill-in light. Of course, a white sheet or blanket would do the job too. During RAW conversion I set the white balance for a bit warmer than neutral colors. Afterwards in Photoshop I enhanced contrasts and color a bit to bring out more structure. Some white vignetting is added at the end.
