Two weeks ago we had a big carnaval parade in Heist. Like in many Belgian cities it's a tradition. It was not easy to get some great images. Especially the weather was awful, lots of tourists everywhere and the people of the parade are not posing, only walking, running, jumping, smiling, waving, drinking and having fun. Luckily I've got a few nice snapshots.


TECH-INF: one RAW file, converted into TIFF using DxO Optics Pro. In Photoshop I enhanced all colors with the selective color tool and adjusted contrast and brightness locally. To make the black and white stripe materials stronger, I boosted the contrast (locally) and desaturated it to remove any color casts. The face is brightened a lot while the background became a bit darker. Together with some vignetting it gives the man in front much more attention.
