photoblog image Two Tomatoes

Two Tomatoes

In September I shot a couple of images for a theme called vegetables, see here. As you can see I eventually choose for the the carrots because I thought it was more original. But initially I made a couple of shots of tomatoes (see above). I prefer this image, though less original. Let me know what you think of this one.

TECH-INFO: it's almost exactly the same as my carrots image, where I used a self made macro photo studio for less than 10 euro. The main lights are coming from the left and the top but I used an extra white paper sheet at the right to fill in the shadows. During post-processing I removed a few scratches pn the tomatoes, the blacks are made darker, the reds nicer and the greens more vivid.

I love the pitch black background. I think january I will give this kind of subject a try in my lightbox
LightningPaul: Thanks Chantal. I'm looking forward to your results. Besides good lighting, the trick is to darken the background from something like very dark gray (or textured black, because of the paper) into almost 100% black.
Very good table top shot Paul, they look absolutely delicious.
LightningPaul: Thanks Brian. It was delicious indeed smile
Great background for a simple and simply perfect pic!
LightningPaul: Many thanks Tom for your comment.
Belle prise de vue.
Meilleurs vœux pour cette nouvelle année.
LightningPaul: Merci beaucoup! Bonne année!
