photoblog image Abandoned - Pipe around Factory

Abandoned - Pipe around Factory

One more shot of those abandoned red brick built factories in Zyrardow, Poland. Personally I find those pipes around the buildings very fascinating. I guess they were used to transport steam to power engines and to heat work places and houses.

TECH-INFO: I shot multiple images to combine them into a HDR file. Tonemapping was necessary because of the too high contrasts and to enhance details. Afterwards I made colors and contrasts stronger in Photoshop. I really enjoy "painting" on the masks of adjustment layers. It lets you bring out the best of every part in the image (or at least I try to do that). Enjoy!

A great image Paul although I can't decide about the tilt.
LightningPaul: Thanks Brian. The tilt adds, IMO, a dynamic effect. Though we can only use it sparingly.
Kind of scary looking building.
I'm a big 'Fallout' game fan, and this sure looks like a scene after a nuclear holocaust.

And leaving the macabre behind us - Merry Christmas! smile
LightningPaul: Wow, I always try to trigger some emotion with my images but a "nuclear holocaust"... sounds pretty heavy to me smile

Breathtakingly rich in color and texture. Man, just love detail, so much of it.
LightningPaul: Many thanks Luis. I'm also crazy of getting all the color, texture and details from an image.
Great picture - i love the angle, although it is a little dizzying. I think I feel a bit like I am falling. smile
LightningPaul: Thanks. I love a tilt from time to time.
