Eiffel Tower at Sunset


Eiffel tower in Paris. Yesterday I went through my archive and found this nice image. It was shot while standing on the Arc de Triomphe.


TECH-INFO: one rather low contrast RAW file. Converted into a HDR file by developing first three exposures of a stop difference. The HDR tone mapping process is used for enhancing details and contrast. In Photoshop I made the contrast stronger of various spots. Also the top part of the sky is made more blue using a a gradient masked layer of a cooling filter. At the end I added vignetting. Enjoy!

Great work Paul, you did a splendid job on the post processing. I never thought this was done with HDR. Besides the processing, the composition is very nice and the late afternoon sun is very pleasing.

I haven't ever seen the Tower Paul but am told it is bigger than one thinks. This certainly does ste the size of it off agianst the surrounding buildings.
LightningPaul: You are right, it shows very well how much bigger this tower is. At first I didn't pay attention, but you just made me smile
this is the real deal, I had the Vegas version
