photoblog image The Modern Wall

The Modern Wall

From the moment I saw a few very graphical pictures on the internet I became very found of them. Even so much that I really like to try creating a few myself. Here is one shot at the College of Europe in Brugge, Belgium. The is the outside wall of one of the modern buildings.

Another graphical image is here.

TECH-INFO: RAW file converted, developed and transformed to B/W in DxO Optics Pro to a TIFF file. Afterwards in Photoshop, to enhance the effect even more, I made two copies of the background layer. The first one was blurred (Gaussian), the second one done with a High Pass filter. Both layers were set to overlay blending mode and got an opacity of 50%. Afterwards I enhanced the contrast even a bit more.

great pattern and symmetry, B&W makes you focus on that very well

excellent, definately a classic 'graphic' shot, a cool exercise in perspective, pattern and mono.
Very strong image Paul as is the one on the link.
impressive how well this works! Very simple composition and great because of that. The sharp detail in the foreground makes the pic! Great work

Same than other visitor, graphical shot was an excellent exercise and a good way to discovers lens deformation... Always impress by your technical side. All appears easy by read the description! Bonne semaine.
The tech info section of your blogs is a valuable tool for learning for the budding photographer. I discovered HDR from your blogs. You're doing a good job, Paul.

Great work. The b&w works very well here, as well as the symmetry.
