Brugs Beer Festival 2009
This weekend I was at the third edition of the
Brugs Beer Festival in Brugge, Belgium. It's a very good change to try many new kind of beers and have a nice chat with the brewers. One of the best ones was
Lesage. They started merely six months ago but still their beer was really nice, soft and very very tasty. Ideal for in the summer when you are very thirsty but also excellent for drinking when sitting cosy at a warm fire during one of the many dark winter nights. Above you see four of those bottles of Lesage with behind a gold color bag to pack two of them.
Of course I took my camera to take a couple snapshots though that was not easy to do. First, it was extremely crowdy. Second, I focused more on tasting different beers. And finally, after a lot of beers focusing on photographing became a hard task.
TECH-INFO: I really like the RAW convertor of DxO Optics Pro 5.3, especially for the D300 camera (I am able to tweak it better). So I shoot more in RAW now. Especially handy for difficult lighting situations like I had at this festival. After conversion I used Photoshop to enhance several parts. Mainly the background is desaturated, the bag (between the back and foreground) got more contrast) and the bottles got a bit lighter and have also more contrast thanks to a layer set in screen blending mode. Using a pen table I was able to paint on the layers, which is much more handy than just making selections.
DxO has just released version 6 of their lens correction software (including a RAW convertor). One of great additions is a manual lens correction module for non-supported lenses. I didn't try out the software yet, but soon I'll do it.
