photoblog image Beach of Scheveningen

Beach of Scheveningen

Schevingen, a nice little city in Holland. The beach is fantastic. It's a nice combination of sand and lounge bars. I really liked it over there.

TECH-INFO: not so much is altered on this image. I processed the shot JPG in DxO Optics Pro, as always, for small lens corrections. In Photoshop I enhanced colors and contrast a bit. Finally I emulated the effect of a gradual ND filter to darken the top of the sky. At the end I cropped it into 20/11 format. Initially I tried 2/1 but I lost too much sky. Enjoy the view!

the beach goes on forever Paul
LightningPaul: It does, and if you walk long enough you end up at the same point again; bonus: you'll have seen Asia and Southern Europe too smile
well, this is my country, I know this beach
A wonderful perspective composition Paul. Luminosity and colours are superb!
LightningPaul: Thanks Richard. I think I'll add more colors in future posts (or less when doing B/W of course).
In June 1966 I spent a few hours here after seeing the Dutch TT motorcycle grand prix the day before. It has certainly been modernised a bit since then unsurprisingly.
LightningPaul: That's indeed a while ago.
It must have been lunch time!
LightningPaul: It was 15h41 when I shot this one. I guess people were lazy and still eating, which is OK for a sunny Sunday afternoon on the beach.
Yeah Paul very nice, I was at this place few years ago too. I liked it better than Rockanje if you know that dutch beach too.Brings back nice memories...
LightningPaul: I don't know Rockanje (yet) but there is also so much to discover. Thanks for commenting.

Gorgeous view here! There are more people on the terrace than the beach. ND filter effect always catches my attention. Bravo.
LightningPaul: LOL smile You are right, the people are probably too lazy to go on the beach. It's more relaxing in the bars.
