An artificial made lake in Zyrardow, in Poland. It was used in case there would be fire in one of the many surrounding former factories. At left you see in the background the remaining parts of an old power plant, which I have shot here too. It's one of the many old constructions left from communism. At the right you see a new building full of nice colors. They start rising everywhere in Poland. On the other hand they renovate lots of old apartment blocks and paint them in different refreshing colors. It's a real joy to see that.
TECH-INFO: this is a tone mapped HDR image of which I improved globally and locally the contrasts in Photoshop, using masked adjustment layers. Nine JPG files, of each a stop difference, are used to generate the HDR file.

LightningPaul: I understand your remark though I have to disagree. After tone mapping an image mostly looks too sterile but here I added more contrast in almost all parts. Also blacks are present. Perhaps it's missing some very white parts. Anyway, many thanks for your comment.
Lovely Paul. Nice winter light and colours. I haven't been to Poland but it looks an interesting place.
LightningPaul: Poland is very big country. I still have to visit many places over there. It's great to see it changing every time I go over there. It's like some kind of slow revolution.
Just beautiful. The story of Poland in link with the communism always fascinate for me. And the green building at the right, is't the hostel seen in previous post?
LightningPaul: It is not the hostel of my previous shot. There is about 1500km between those two
