At the Belgian coast we have many fine art works this summer, thanks to the project called Beaufort 3. They organize it every three years and this time it's the third time they do it. Above you see a big dome built from stripes of wood. I visited this amazing construction early in the morning so there were (almost) no tourists. Besides that, the weather was very beautiful: no clouds and certainly no rain. On the picture you have the top of the constructed dome. I was standing inside and pointing my camera upwards. The image is a bit abstract and graphical but later I'll post some others which will give you a better overview of this magnificent work.
TECH-INFO: a fish eye lens is really ideal for capturing round structures like this one. I shot in RAW format. JPG is fine if you don't plan to change a lot or do some heavy post processing. But here I wanted to make a very graphical image. First I converted the RAW file to a 16 TIFF file using DxO Optics Pro. I needed a maximum amount of data to do any kind of B/W transformation. Here I simulated a red filter with the B/W tool in Photoshop. The sky became black while the brown pieces of wood, which were lit by the sun, became very bright. Besides some small cropping no other changes where done. I'm very happy to produce another B/W image. Mostly I have problems to throw away colors but this time I comforted myself by knowing that I will post a few color pictures soon.
