The Happy Boy

A happy and nice boy :-) It's mostly lots of fun to shoot pictures of (little) children. They make so many nice expressions on there faces. Sometimes it happens they notice me and look at me with a very spontaneous smile. Do you also love to take pics of children?

TECH-INFO: The used lens was the new Nikkor DX 35mm f/1.8 which I really love to use, especially in low light situations like here. A few key elements: shoot a lot (at the rights moments if possible) and focus on the (closest) eye.

Post processing: converted the RAW file in DxO Optics Pro, mainly for having a correct white balance. In Photoshop I copied the layer, blurred it (Gaussian blur, 10px) and blended it in lighter color mode with the original layer. It slightly softens the image. Then I added a curves tool layer for extra contrast. I played with all the RGB channels (just like in this image). On top of it I created a noise layer which I blended with the rest in overlay mode. The later adds some kind of mood to this image.
