Just near the beach in Zeebrugge, Belgium, there is a funny looking metal bar attached to the ground. I would almost think it has an artistic purpose. At least it served well for this image :-)
TECH-INFO: I love my Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens. It is small, light, pretty fast, sharp and cheap. At f/1.8 it's a bit soft but starting at f/2.0 it delivers very sharp images while still having a very limited DOF. I shot in RAW, so I developed multiple JPGs to turn them into a HDR file. I tone mapped it to get lots of details and contrast. Afterwards I improved the contrasts and brightness of several places even more in Photoshop. Also rectangular vignetting is added.

Great details and fascinating Dof - the lens sure is sharp!
So this is a HDR image? Thats even more interesting, we have not thought about using HDR on images like this, but it works very well!! Got to try it...
LightningPaul: Thanks for your comment
HDR and tone mapping techniques have many kind of great applications. I love to use it for enhancing details.
