The Six Mills between Two Boats

When the weather is beautiful and the sky clear in Zeebrugge, Belgium, you can easily see six wind mills. It's a striking view which you don't expect to see at the beach. They started building them on the sea more than a year ago but due to the financial crisis banks stopped financing this project. Now the mills just act as decoration between the many boats which visit the port of Zeebrugge.

TECH-INFO: it was shot after sunset so I got those fantastic color(s) of the sky. I used the Nikon 70-300mm lens which has VR technology to stabilize the view. Especially if you look at the shutter time, 1/20s, it's really amazing to see how sharp images you can take hand held. Another nice demonstration of this VR stuff is this shot while riding on the metro in London.

I developed the RAW file in ACR. In Photoshop I cropped it to 5/2 format, used the curves tool to add contrast and finally added some rectangular vignetting (mainly in the top part).

love metro girl Paul and this is wonderful too, super crop toosmile
A great capture Paul, a fine sky and the silhouette of the ships just adds to it.
Just the kind of straight-on symmetrical shot I like. Excellent job!
