Metallic Towers with Ladder

This is a closer look of the two metallic towers at the right of my previous post. Except for a totally different point of view there is also some warm light of the sunset which was coloring the metal into a beautiful gold.

TECH-INFO: Also here I have set my white balance to cloudy which added even more warmth. Framing was pretty difficult. My camera was standing on a tripod and pointing upwards. It was each time taking a shot, looking at the screen while sitting on my knees and trying to re-frame by moving the tripod or adjusting the ball head. Five JPG shots with each a stop difference were made. I should have made a few more because I still have some blown out areas. But at that time I was not so experienced.

The HDR-processing is very similar as in the previous post. Tone mapping killed a bit the nicely strong gold color of the metal. I fixed that by using a masked adjustment layer of the curves tool. The blending mode was set on soft light which immediately enhanced the contrast. I just had to paint the mask black on the non metal parts. The blue color of the sky is a bit enhanced using the selective color tool.

Awesome perspective Paul, these are one of my favorite types of photos to shoot. Excellent image and processing.
LightningPaul: I appreciate your comments a lot John. Sooner or later I'll come up with more of that stuff, just another place.
Great graphic perspective. The light is excellent too.
LightningPaul: Thanks smile
A real change in colour from your previous shot, I cant help but keep looking up.
LightningPaul: Thanks Nigel. It's indeed amazing if you change the angle and wait for other light how different images can look like.
I love the chosen angle
LightningPaul: Thanks Chantal.
Very impressive!
Bravo Paul smile
LightningPaul: Thank you smile

A very good image.

Bernardo
LightningPaul: Thanks Bernado smile
Great composition! Like the golden color of the metal.

Wondering what settings have you set for 5 bracketing shots? I have a 3-shot only option in my camera, but it will be interesting to experiment with 5 shots set manually.
LightningPaul: Thanks Rod for your comment.
As far as I know, I think most Canon cameras do only a 3-shot option but they can go from -2 stops to 0 to + 2 stops. Most Nikon cameras can do 9 shots but with maximum a stop difference (so that is -5, -4, -3, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3, +4, +5).
In this case my 5 shots will cover the same range as your 3 shots. I hope this helps.
Excellent angle Paul and I love the warm lighting.
LightningPaul: Many thanks Bernie.

Now I understand why security exits you from the place... The gold color adds magic touch to the cold metal. Bravo.
LightningPaul: Hmmm, good you mention this. Probably it's all made of cold.

Very nice shot and the processiong is supurb as usual. Although, my mind wants to rotate the image slightly to the left to get the ladder rungs perfectly horizontal.
LightningPaul: Thanks for your comment. I agree with the ladder. But turning the image would removed some other lines and stuff.
Looks a long way up Alan, like the processing, really brought out the detail.
LightningPaul: Thanks, I'm very happy you like it.
I think you're being a bit harsh regarding the blown out areas smile Personally think it adds and helps show off the intensity of light in that particular area, and uniformity in the way it spreads across.

Superb perspective and PP.
LightningPaul: Many thanks for your comment. I appreciate it. I can be a bit harsh indeed, I think it's in my nature.
Beautiful picture, the framing is perfect wink
LightningPaul: Thanks smile
impressive
