photoblog image The two Head of Casa Mila

The two Head of Casa Mila

I already posted a few images shot in Barcelona but I have many more to process and to show. Here you see on top of Casa Mila one of the remarkable designs of the great architect Gaudi. Many of the decorations are not only very nice to see but also functional. I'm not sure but I think these heads are the ends of pipes for the ventilation system.
Besides that, you have over there a beautiful view of Barcelona. See here to view the facade and here for a more interior view of this house.

TECH-INFO: I took 3 shots, hand held because I had no tripod with me, to combine them into HDR file. I used the bracketing mode of my camera but I noticed I have set it in program mode, hence the exposures of the values are 1/125s f/5.6, 1/180s f/7.1 and 1/80s f/5.3, all are ISO100. Normally you only vary the shutter time but apperently my camera works in a different way when using program mode :-)
Anyway Photoshop had no problem of merging the 3 pictures into one HDR file. Then I tone mapped it in Photomatrix. This step enhanced all the details of the stone heads. Afterwards with help of used masked adjustment layers I enhanced the details and sky even more.

To see Gaudi structures is my dream. I will be pleased to see more shots like this. Fantastic.
LightningPaul: Thanks Mary. I'll post more Gaudi structures in the future but I don't know when exactly.
Wonderful detail picture Paul. I too want to visit Barcelona one day!
LightningPaul: I'm trying to pull you over to buy tickets by showing my best images of Barcelona smile

I like how this photo almost have a painted feeling to it.
LightningPaul: I agree, due to the tone mapping it gets a painterly feeling. Also I made sure that the saturation was not too high.
