photoblog image Casa Mila Inside

Casa Mila Inside

The Casa Mila building in Barcelona. Shot in the open place inside. If you look upwards you get his amazing view. I posted a while ago an image of Casa Mila Outside.

TECH-INFO: Also here I had no tripod with me. Because of the huge dynamic range of light, I had to shoot 9 JPGs with each a stop difference, to capture all the details. The post processing is very similar as the Casa Mila Outside image.

What you see is a tone mapped HDR image in which I enhanced the colors and contrast of several parts using a bunch of masked adjustment layers in Photoshop. This time I even started using the advanced blending mode dialogs to get even more control. Two weeks ago I purchased a Wacom pen tablet. This tool makes it very handy to draw and paint on the masks of the adjustment layers. I really love it. Besides that, my mouse was starting to hurt my arm and back. Anyone else who is also using this tool?

My main purpose was to make a great image which still looks pretty natural. When the dynamic range of light is very high, it's not easy to avoid an overdone tone-mapped HDR image. I have the feeling I succeeded here very well, but I let you do the final judging.

Yes, Paul, I think you achieved the natural look you were seeking. I can't see how this would have looked much different to the naked eye!
LightningPaul: Great! I really wanted to achieve that effect. Many thanks for your comment.
I think this has worked very well Paul. I particularly like the many reflections in the windows
LightningPaul: I was sure you would like the reflections smile
