The Elevator Gates
If you love futururistic and modern looking buildings, and you happen to be in Paris, then you have to visit La Defense, the business part of this fantastic city. The top monument of La Defense is the Grande Arche.
Click here to see the front view. This is shot at the bottom of the elevators. They go right into the black gates in the ceiling. The metal framework itself is a nice piece of art too.
From left to right you have an elevator going up (or down), the second one is totally up in the black gate, number three is also moving and the last one is on the ground floor.
TECH-INFO: Because of all the white color I set my camera in +2/3 exposure compensation mode and shot in RAW to recover from blown out high lights (was not the case here luckily). To balance the lighting I converted it into a HDR file. I used the long way by developing multiple exposures in DxO Optics Pro. This program also corrects lens distortions and softness and even removes noise. This is for me the best way to develop an optimal HDR file in Photomatrix. Afterwards I tone mapped it to a TIFF file which I further processed in Photoshop. Mainly increasing contrasts: global as well on certain areas like the elevators en the engines. Finally I added some vignetting.
