You probably wonder what this could be. You might think this is some strange dessert with unique undiscovered rock formations. At least that is what it looks to me. If you have no clue then don't worry, I wouldn't know either. It's the surface of little bar table which is already standing outside at the beach for several years. The nice surface got fully destroyed because of rain, storms, sand and salt. The table looks really amazing but in close up it's even more interesting.
TECH-INFO: I used my only and favorite 35mm macro lens to shoot one RAW file. Developed in ACR and enhanced in Photoshop. Not so much is altered. With the selective color tool I made the whites lighter and blacks darker. On a masked curves tool adjustment layer in soft light blending mode I painted a few areas with the brush to enhance the contrast. Finally I cropped it in 5/2 ratio and added a nice vignette.

I like this one, it would be interesting to see a bit more of the table.
LightningPaul: Good idea. I should go back and shoot the table from a more normal perspective. Though you have seen the most interesting part of the table
Interesting shot Paul, would have thought it was dried up land. Excellent and creative processing. Like the center focus and tones in this shot, great capture.
LightningPaul: To me it also looks like something dried up but then the "grass" below would look a bit odd. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
Heh.. fulled me. I always try to imagine what I'm looking at before reading the post. I love the mystery of the photo..
My guess was it some kind of old wall, because I could see the fibers behind the color.
Table didn't even crossed my mind.
Nicely done!
LightningPaul: I totally understand. I hardly still can believe it's a table. I should make another image where you see more of the table.
