photoblog image Diagonal View of Le Louvre

Diagonal View of Le Louvre

Le Louvre, in center of Paris. Many shots are already made of this pyramid and probably many more will be taken. I wanted to have my own version :-)

TECH-INFO: This image is made very similar as the one posted yesterday. Also no tripod used because the security in Paris is extremely allergic to them. I shot 3 NEF files, all hand held. In DxO I developed 5 JPGs from those three. Then aligned and merged them to a HDR file in Photoshop. Tone mapped it in Photomatrix and used various masked adjustment layers, mostly curves and selective color tools, in Photoshop. The sky is a bit darkened and made more blue. The palace is enhanced using the soft light blending mode which actually enhances the contrast in a way I like. No vignetting is added.

TIP: the image may look cooler if you watch it from a certain distance. The lines and reflections become more interesting.

I think this a good take on this controversial structure.
LightningPaul: Thanks Bill! I really like to turn and bring my camera to other positions, hoping for something cool and/or more original.
Great and refreshing perspective, I agree it is better when you sit back.
LightningPaul: Thanks! I'm glad you see it too when sitting back.
That's a beautiful take as well.
Nice one
Cheers

LightningPaul: Thanks again Rob smile
I like this Louvre perspective. I also have pics from there. Unfortunately couldn't exploit the place as much as I wanted.
LightningPaul: Thanks for your comment and visit.
I love the angle. the photo makes me think of the Da Vinci Code, situated in the Louvre
LightningPaul: Indeed but here it was sunny and bright while in the movie it had a much more dark atmosphere.

Excellent and creative framing. But he sky is grey (usualy with Paris pollution it is white) and the Louvre is pink (usually it is white, trending to grey because of dirt). I am not sure not to prefer the original colours... which would mean that I prefer pollution to your depolluted vision !!!
Another great HDR Image!
LightningPaul: Thanks, it's great you like it.
superb shot Paul, love the angle/reflectionssmile
LightningPaul: Many thanks!
This is an amazing reflection, I like the angle.. a new and creative capture of a subject that has been photographed many times
LightningPaul: Thank Ruben!

Cool and unusual take on an oft-photographed structure. Pei would be proud.
LightningPaul: It was very cool to see the fascinating structure. But it's nothing more than that.

Nice composition. I do not look the Louvre in the same way ...
LightningPaul: Thanks I'm glad you like it.
Like the angle and perspective in this shot. Interesting architecture that you captured superbly. Feel like I'm standing right there. Excellent composition.
LightningPaul: Reading this gives me the feeling that I totally succeeded with this image. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Not bad and original angle used. You reinvent the Louvre photo and hidden more clues about Marie-Madeleine!!!
LightningPaul: smile
Thanks!
