photoblog image The Moment - Bubble Catch

The Moment - Bubble Catch

It's always a little bit of an adventure with little kids. I took two shots in one second at the right moment. I love taken pictures shot at The Moment. They are immortalized snapshots which will never happen again. Two months ago I posted another image of the moment.

TECH-INFO: Just for fun and to learn I used my Lensbaby Composer with double glass optic, which gives sharp results at the sweet point. Focusing is done fully manual and not easy at all because kids equals unpredictable action. My camera is always set on continuous fire mode at three frames per second. When I just click I take a single image when I see action I press longer to record a sequence just like I did here. By turning one of the buttons I go easily to five frames a second but it's only useful if you really need lots of shots in a short time or you can't predict the exact moment of a extremely short happening. The fast speed shooting mode is mostly distracting for normal use because you end up mostly with double shots due to the high rate.

In DxO Optics Pro I improvement lighting and contrast. In Photoshop I aligned both images and cropped them together. Afterwards I added some vignetting to change the mood and place them next to each other. Both image have the same EXIF info.

I always wanted to buy a lensbaby but in a way I was also always "afraid" of this type of results. It kinda shakes the foundation which I'm used too.
Your examples make me want to buy one right one smile
nice diptych!!
In the moment covers it, the first one is required to see the cause and effect.
I wondered about the weird DOF/Focus. Lensbaby.... Do you like these? I always thought it was akin to strapping on the bottle of an old coke bottle, although this proves me wrong!!
Cheers

We cannot viewing this montage without wonderment. Great idea, simple scennery but awesomer result. The kids will fall to the left side (the photo level héhéhé).
