A part of the wall of one of the old abandoned factories made of typical red bricks. Located in Zyrardow, Poland. In those buildings they made high quality linen. It all started in 1830 and the best times where at the end of the 19th century. After the linen production got almost fully destroyed during the First World War they rebuilded everything. Unfortunately the Second World War and the communistic regime were not very beneficial. Especially during the liberation of market the large plant got divided into many enterprises which were not competitive. Except for one small company left all others are now bankrupt.
I was not sure about this image. It missing a bit of depth. All the other images of my abandoned series have better composition, more interesting elements and look less flat. I like the dramatic and repetitive look a lot of this one. Also the thumbnail looks very cool. Please let me know what you think.
TECH-INFO: To cover the full dynamic range of light I took 7 JPGs. Processing is very similar as in this image and this one. Except in Photomatrix I have set the micro contrast to minus ten and the luminosity to minus seven. Normally I set the micro contrast to plus ten.

like all of your hdr images this is clean and sharp and the base of the building provides a lot of interest from the dirty mossy bricks to the graffiti. l like it
LightningPaul: Many thanks! I (try to) go another direction than most other people do when using HDR techniques.
Great viewable details and textures. I like this story associate with the building (WW, communism). It's not common in my country. Great spot to shoot...
LightningPaul: A lot happened in Poland. A few times this country didn't exist even. The scarfs of history are truly marked in many of the buildings and even in the people.
Ah... I think I already wrote that neglect always good look on a photo.
And this frame strengthen that point.
I love that green stain on the lower right part. It "breaks" the pattern of color and texture.
Looks great
Excellent details, contrasts and tones. Like the framing and the brickwork really captures the eye. Superb processing, a fascinating composition of this old structure.
LightningPaul: After thinking a bit I'm also very happy how this image turned out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
It doesn't look flat to me. It's a wall and thus I guess it's flat in that way but I don't think that's what you meant. It's sharp and contrasty. A very good HDR treatment that suits the subject extremely well. The place appears very damp...I can almost feel being there.
LightningPaul: I'm happy with your comment. I was thinking it is flat because of missing depth because there is no object in front or a broken window where you can see everything inside. But there is still a lot going on in this one.
This must be a very interesting building Paul. Did you had a chance to snick into it??
LightningPaul: Unfortunately I couldn't get inside. Despites it's abandoned there are is still security (pretty weird but true). I went inside in one of the other factory buildings, so soon I must post some images of the inside parts too. Thanks for visiting.
Beautiful, heavy atmosphere ! A very good picture !
LightningPaul: Thanks! I wanted to make it heavy and I'm glad I succeeded. While walking around over there I saw the potential of the dramatic textures.
