Another Bank Building

If you wonder where part of the money of the banks went to, here you see a nice example. Together with insurance companies they mostly own the most modern or fancy buildings in town. Lucky for me they are great to photograph. This one is taken in the center of Rotterdam.


TECH-INFO: one RAW file shot hand held while wondering around in the city. Made three exposures with DxO, merged them in Photomatrix and tone-mapped it.
In Photoshop I enhanced the sky and different parts of the building using curves and brightness/contrast adjustment layers. Partly to get closer to the original pictures and partly to stand out certain parts. I like the futuristic look a lot.

Spectacular shot, the perspective is exceptional. Love the way you capture this fascinating architecture. The reflections, details, tones and processing are superb.
Leaving aside the high quality processing Paul. I love this as a composition.

Maar the building is very beautiful..the tones,, compositions are 6the best!
Definitely looks futuristic, as you say. Also has great clarity and a very pleasing composition.

"Futuristic" is one of my favorite words. I don't like a lot of the new modern office towers, especially the ones you see pop up in China and in Dubai. This style I do like, though.

It doesn't have that HDR look, and on this image I think that's a good thing. There are still shadows...there are still highlights. But there's a lot of detail too. The post processing is terrific. And obviously the composition is good. My favorite part is that little patch of blue sky.

I love how all the clouds reflect in the building, it really adds another dimension the this big building!
