Racing Toddler

When this boy saw this little car at the playground, he immediately started non stop racing. An ideal moment to make an action shot.

TECH-INFO: after posting some pictures using the pan technique I decided to experiment a bit more.
Panning is moving your camera with the subject so the background becomes blurry and the subject stays sharp, well at least the parts which don't move. In the beginning it is hard but after some practice you get many usable results. The results are mostly pretty spectacular.
I corrected the lens flaws in DxO (as always) and cropped it to put more focus on the boy and the action. When using panning you'll mostly have to crop your image because you only frame your subject, not your background.
Afterwards I brightened the subject slightly and darkened the background a little bit. Not much was needed to let the subject stand out even more. Though those little changes turn a good image into a better image.

Awesome action shot, Paul. Even with practice, panning's not easy.

Love the kid's expression.

He'll have his time of driving. I remember myself, how much I loved everything that is car related. Today? Please... just leave me alone, let me lay on the couch and watch some TV.
I can only envy this little's guy energy smile
