The famous Eiffel tower in Paris. It's pretty spectacular. Lots of people were taking pictures at the time and enjoying this impressive work of steel. See here for a total view.
TECH-INFO: On a tripod I took 5 JPG pictures with each a stop difference. I did not converted them into a HDR image to tone map it, because the black parts would get too noisy. Instead I used exposure blending which is also available in Photomatrix Pro. The newest version, 3.1 has even improved adjustment controls. It is fairly easy process with only a few sliders to set. Afterwards I straightened the image slightly and did a very very small contrast increase using the curves tool. The balanced lighting is fully due the exposure blending.

This is truly a different approach to one of the world's most photographed structures. The way they have it lit and the way you processed makes it seem not even real, but it an good way! Nice shot, sir.
LightningPaul: Thank you very much for commenting. I'm very happy I succeeded to make something good of this structure.
Original point of view. Colors and details are awesome.
LightningPaul: Thanks! I think it yellow again now. While France was the chairman of the EU it was blue with yellow stars. I was their at the right moment.
FAMOUS AND GORGEOUS! Another great view from LP! GREAT, GREAT AND GREAT! I will try the blending for my latest night shoot. J'espère que tu as fait un beau voyage...
LightningPaul: Thank you very very much for your comment. I'm very delighted. I had a very nice little trip with my wife to Paris.
One word ... WOW! Also, thanks for posting your techniques. I was toying with HDR and exposure blending processes but your description illustrated the advantages and the differences between the two. Your descriptions are extremely helpful!
LightningPaul: Thank you very much. I'm very happy you like the provided technical info. If something would not be clear, then just let me know.
Great colours and a finely detailed image Paul. I have not tried the exposure blending feature of Photomatix, perhaps I should.
LightningPaul: Thanks!
Exposure blending gives sometimes better results for shots with lots of black or dark parts like night shots. Also very worthwhile when there is a huge dynamic range in light in which a grad ND does not help.
