photoblog image Crying Toddler

Crying Toddler

Pretty unhappy little boy. You clearly see how he is feeling. Luckily such young kids can turn into the happiest man in the world after a few minutes :-)
I choose this image for the VFXY theme Emotions. I really like the expression and tears on his face. Also the background is nicely out of focus.

TECH-INFO: it was shot in black & white mode (I know it is better to do this during post processing, but at that time I was experimenting with B/W for the very first times).
I first corrected lens flaws with DxO. Afterwards I used Photoshop to enhance contrast. With the dodge tool I made the eyes and tears stand out much more. Finally I added a rectangular white vignette using the HSL adjustment layer. I set the layer mode to overlay which made the vigette somehow contrast sensitive.

Lol smile Too much "souvenirs" in this one, now mine are 24/21/19 year old and now....I'm crying smile

Very very good portrait !!
LightningPaul: smile I'm happy this image triggers some emotions.
Great portrait.
LightningPaul: Thank Stefania!
OK, it's not very nice to see him crying, but it is extremely well photographed. You really can see the tears welling in his eyes...
LightningPaul: Thanks Mark. I had a few images to choose for the theme emotions, but this one exposed a lot. I also like the eyes a lot.

dit lijken toch wel echte traantjes te zijn...
waarvoor fotografie allemaal goed voor is,
zeer mooie opname
LightningPaul: Het zijn ook echte traantjes. Bedankt voor de commentaar.
''Can't you see that I'm upset and you are really bugging me with that stupid toy camera thingy that you are always carrying around with you ....''

I'm very odd in that I can pretty clearly remember being about 2 years old, so I know what you mean when you say they can be throwing a fit like this one minute and a few minutes later they're on top of the world. Manic!

Well photographed and what you did in post processing makes up for the sin of shooting in BW mode (haha).
LightningPaul: Thanks for forgiving my sin smile

I know this face sooooo well, I see it most days on one or the other of my boys! wonderfully captured Paul, and even though I know only too well how quickly they can turn it off and on, I am still a sucker for a face like this, poor little guy, I hope he got something nice to cheer him up!
LightningPaul: Many thanks for sharing your thoughts. The little boy is pretty easy to cheer up.
beautiful portrait!
LightningPaul: Many thanks!

I like how the light reflect from his eyes.
LightningPaul: I fully agree. Especially after some dodging they look fantastic. Thank you for commenting.
