photoblog image Beer Tap Side Panel

Beer Tap Side Panel

During the second edition of the beer festival in Brugge, I shot the side panel of a beer tap machine. See here for another shot and more info about the happening.

This image is rather abstract. I enjoy watching the lines and shapes of the grid. Also texture of the metal of the focus point is great to see for me. I hope you can enjoy it too.

TECH-INFO: Just like in the other beer festival shot I used my 50mm f/1.4 and pushed the ISO to 800 because of the very bad lighting.
Like many of my other posts, I developed multiple exposures of one RAW file with DxO, converted them into a HDR file, tone mapped it with Photomatrix and finally did some dodging and burning in Photoshop Elements.
Despites it is lots of work, I love using the tone-mapping technique because you can easily reveal so much details and texture.

The repeating patters would work very well as a texture on another photo if you're inclined to do such things.

My eye keeps moving from the center of cocus to the warmish color cast in the bottom right of the frame.

I love the monotony of it. This is the side panel of a beer tap, but really it could be anything. The side panel of an Air Condtioning unit. Street grate. Cat walk. Something from the space program. Maybe even a grill.

The fact that it could be so many things is what makes it interesting. You shouldn't have told us what it is! haha
LightningPaul: Many thanks for your extended comment. I didn't know that the warm place at the bottom was so attractive (but that's why I like the comments I get, others see and notice all things I don't).
It's an abstract image, perhaps it would have been better to give it an "abstract" title and write down in the companion text what it is exactly. Thanks for mentioning it.

Simple and crisp, just the way these abstracts tend to work best.
LightningPaul: Many thanks, I appreciate your comment.

nice compo, nice pattern, it makes a great abstract.
LightningPaul: Many thanks, I'm glad you like it.
