Snow Covering around River

Tomorrow the winter starts and hopefully we'll get some real snow in Belgium.

Last week I went through my old archive of pictures and I found a bunch of nice ones which will suit for this period of the year. I'll be posting them during the next coming weeks. The picture above is shot in South of Poland.

UPDATE: I submitted this one for the VFXY weekly theme Snow.

TECH-INFO: This is shot with my first digital camera, a Minolta F100, released in 2002. A very good compact digital camera at that time. I converted the image to black and white because it had a blue cast. Finally I boosted the contras a bit. The focal length, in 35mm equivalent, is 82mm.

Nice simple landscape Paul. I look forward to the others
LightningPaul: Many thanks for your comment. The next picture made with my Minolta will be posted on the 22nd of December.

The Black and White conversion has worked well on this Paul, and a fine scene it is as well.
LightningPaul: Thanks! A long time ago my images were not as good as now (which is fine of course), but this one was exceptionally good (for me). The color version is as good as identical except for the blue cast (which I didn't notice at the time of shooting).
Beautiful scene. Would make a great card or large wall hanging. Looks fantastic this way and I'll bet it would look great soft as well. Really nice shot!
LightningPaul: I was something I just noticed, shot and continued my journey on foot.
This image is hanging on the wall in my office (the size is around 8" x 12") though for a long time, with the blue cast.
I wonder how if would look like soft. How do you make it soft?
Thanks for your comment and visit.
Very nice BW with a lot of details very sharp. Great work Paul!
LightningPaul: I'm very happy to read that. Thanks for visiting Giorgio.

Minolta always made good stuff. Very innovative company. It's good to see Sony carrying on their tradition.

Anyway, your choice to boost the contrast was a very good one. I can tell there was a lot of blue in it.

Nice job.
LightningPaul: Many thanks for your comment. Since Sony took over the (D)SLR division of Konica Minolta, they got a huge boost. A few year ago they said they wanted to become number 3 and I think they are (not sure for 100%). Now they seem to go for number 2, though this won't be easy at all.

I really like this photo. It is so clean and sharp it makes you feel you are there.

Although I may be would have chosen another prespective (a lower, more on the right hand of the river one). great job wink
LightningPaul: Many thanks for your comment. I think I was standing on a bridge. You are right about another perspective, but many years ago I did not had this insight.
