This the man, called Sinterklaas, comes back every year, mainly in Belgium and Holland, to give children presents. During the night of the 5th to the 6th of December he visits every house to leave toys and candy behind. Today is his name day.

This picture is shot at special happening at school where he visits the children. In the beginning they were dancing for him, at the end they all got something sweat to eat.


TECH-INFO: shot one RAW file using on flash camera. Condition were not ideal at all to shoot. I developed two exposures with DxO. I tried making a HDR image but it was too noisy. Instead I used exposure blending (in Photomatrix) which yielded a pretty clear view with not too much noise. Afterwards I used a bunch of adjustment layers in combination with dodging and burning to enhance certain parts and to darken the background.
