photoblog image Thermae Palace Pillars

Thermae Palace Pillars

These are the pillars of the Thermae Palace in the City Oostende located at the sea. A long time ago it was the summer house of the royal family in Belgium. Now the building is a hotel and one of the rooms is used as television studio in the summer.

TECH-INFO: the pillars are beautifully lit by the late evening sun which was very orange and pretty soft. Contrast and vibrancy are slightly increased. The very long focal length of 200mm compresses the pillars very close to each other. In real there is plenty of space between them.
Also note that despites an aperture of f/16 is used, the DOF is rather shallow.
